The Ajijic area--about 30 miles SW of Guadalajara on Lake Chapala (15 photos)

 

The Ajijic Art Institute--Selling supplies, framing work, holding exhibitions, and teaching classes...

The Huichol--Learning more about this native tribe who live on extended family homesteads, deep in the Sierra Madre Mountains and are famous for their Yarn Paintings(21 pictures).
The Huichol: Trip #2--I was able to visit two other neighboring communities near Nueva Colina, one called Las Latas which included a 1 hour hike straight down the mountain (21 pictures).

Basketball (and Soccer)

---this american favorite (basketball) is slowing beginning to catch on here. I am being sent home to recruit a player for Chapala's city teams final month of games in april. Got Game? (5 pictures)

Fundraiser: Fiesta Prehispanica

---Efren is President of his son's elementary school and put on this fundraiser to repair structural damage to the school. This was my theatrical debut! (14 images)
